11/25/2023 0 Comments Airdroid mac cannot log inI still don’t understand why it does not just work. I need this ability to access the SD card in my new Note7! 10.9.5) I get a desktop icon which is the device & I can open it & look through & open another Finder window & drag files from one to the other. So, whenever I connect a flash drive, camera or my old Android Motorola smart phone with an SD card to my iMac (v. (I did this in anticipation of the recall/swap coming soon.) I did install SS b4 I tried to transfer any files & it appears to work fine to back up my phone. I have AFT AND Smart Switch installed & still get same AFT error messages. I have my phone unlocked when I attempt to connect. I do believe there are other choices to do this sort of stuff but give this one a try to see if it works for you? Hope this helped someone? Also, trying to get stuff into the "Secure Folder" is really an uphill challenge for me! It took me a bit to figure these out, which i am still have not mastered yet. This will enable you to get your Mac & Note 7 to more photos, files, and more - with a little trial and error I will add. So folks, the best way to start getting the two items (Mac & Note 7) to talk w each other is easily fixed by using a Samsung App called "Kies" Therefore, it was a few years back i found this software which enabled my MBP to recognize the S5 and matter of fact I guess I never deleted it from my applications, because when i plugged my nice Silver Note 7 into my MBP it was instantly recognized - despite needing an update. IMHO- that was a big mistake! I just didnt like the way the iPhone worked with the iCloud, and often discovered missing photos, duplicate contacts, and a myriad of other things which made me miss my Galaxy S5. Re: Mac will not recognize Note 7, I tried….Īs a former S5 owner I ran into this issue long ago, and as you all stated, whatever Mac you use as your daily platform won't recognize it.Īll my hardware at home are MacBooks, iMac, etc and I instinctively thought that going with the iPhone 6s Plus would be a super way to tie them all together since they would be the same OS talking to each other. Is this a security precaution that is causing the problem? What am I doing wrong & why do I need AFT on my Mac anyway? Is this new with more recent Android versions? I much prefer the way the old one worked just plug it in & ready to move files. Unplug/replug USB & reset USB from charging to file transfer, no help. Try settings/Developer options.turned ON, then turn ON USB debugging. Tried: settings/more/ Phone visibility ON… no helpĬk storage & Have both Internal & Portable so, my SD card is mounted! “Connected device unable to access data on this phone. Same error message! Also got pop up phone message: I always made sure to change Phone USB “charging” (default) to “File Transfer” I try using USB port on back (not hub) Same error message! Try reconnecting or restarting your device.” Still get pop up: “Could Not connect to device. Mac saw the SD card as a mass storage device.Īfter failure with Note 7, I searched & learned I needed to D/L Android File Transfer app from I just connected via USB & immediately appeared on desktop. No special, additional software required. I suggest FileZilla, but if you don’t like that, you can use a FileZilla alternative as well.I had no trouble with Mac recognizing my old Motorola Droid RAZR Maxx running Android. You will need an FTP client on your Mac for this. If that’s happening with you, or if you don’t want to use Snapdrop for any reason, you can use FTP to share files between Android and macOS. Sometimes, at least for me, Snapdrop refuses to work properly. Plus, it’s the closest thing to AirDrop I’ve seen so far. It works quite fast, it’s completely free, and you don’t need to install any apps on your devices. Personally, Snapdrop is my go-to choice for sharing files between Android devices and my Mac. You can click on your Android phone’s name on your Mac screen and choose the files you want to send to your phone. This also works the other way around, by the way. You can then select the files you want to transfer. On your smartphone, tap on the Mac’s screen-name shown in Snapdrop. If you don’t see this, make sure both devices are connected to the same WiFi network and try to reload the website. You should see your phone pop-up on your Mac’s screen, and your Mac on your Android phone’s screen. On your Android device and on your Mac, go to the Snapdrop website.
